Not to the muted file — once the audio track is gone it is gone, and nothing can recover it from that download. Your original video on your own device is untouched, so keep it. If you plan to replace the soundtrack later, save the original audio with Extract Audio before you mute, so you still have it.

There is one exception: if the video uses a codec that cannot be placed in an MP4 container — some older AVI and WMV files, for instance — the picture has to be re-encoded to complete the conversion, which costs a small amount of quality. Anything already recorded as MP4 or MOV copies straight through.
