What Tools4Edit Is

Tools4Edit is a collection of more than 60 free file-editing tools that run in your web browser. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no watermark on anything you download. You open a tool, upload a file, adjust the settings you care about, and download the result.

Most file editing is a one-off job — shrinking a photo to fit an upload limit, rotating a PDF that scanned in sideways, pulling the audio out of a video clip. None of that justifies installing desktop software or paying a monthly subscription, and it shouldn't cost you a watermark across your own work either.

How Your Files Are Handled

Processing happens on our servers, which is what makes it possible to run real video and audio operations from a browser. Your file is uploaded, so you should know exactly what happens to it after that.

Uploads are transmitted over HTTPS, so they are encrypted in transit.
Files are deleted automatically within one hour. A scheduled cleanup task removes every uploaded and processed file older than 60 minutes. It runs on a timer, whether anyone is watching or not.
We do not read, analyse, sell or share the contents of your files, and no copies are kept once the cleanup has run.

One practical consequence: your download link expires with the file. That is a deliberate trade-off — short retention is what keeps your files off our disks. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Limits, and How the Site Stays Free

Uploads are capped at roughly 5–10 MB depending on the tool, with tighter limits on a few of the heavier operations. Each tool page states its own limit. This is not an upsell, because there is no paid tier to unlock — the cap is what keeps processing fast for everyone using the site at once. When a limit gets in your way, compressing or trimming the file first will usually bring it inside.

Tools4Edit is supported by advertising. There is no premium plan, no credit system and no feature held back behind a payment. We would rather show ads alongside the tools than put a watermark on your work or ask for your email address before letting you download a file you made yourself.
